December 10, 2007.
Leipzig Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig engaged in a dialog with six English teachers from the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium at the Gardelegen Community library (Stadt-, Kreis- und Gymnasialbibliothek) in Saxony-Anhalt. Wenig focused on the upcoming U.S. presidential primaries, reviewed the Consulate’s public diplomacy work and discussed his diplomatic career.  He then took questions from the teachers, and presented several new books to the library director. Wenig also met with Gardelegen Deputy Mayor Klaus Richter and three local journalists, all from different regional newspapers, for more questions on U.S. related issues.  During this time, Leipzig’s Information Resource Center (IRC) director introduced IRC products, U.S. resources and websites to the teachers. In her welcome remarks, Library Director Ursula Isenberg emphasized her institution’s long-standing working relationship with the Consulate.
