Consul Participates in Election Discussion in Magdeburg
February 18, 2008. Leipzig Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig joined Dr. Jackson Janes, Executive Director of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies of Johns Hopkins University, for a joint presentation and discussion on the 2008 U.S. presidential primaries, held before 50 people attending the annual members’ meeting of the German-American Dialog Center in Magdeburg. The 90-minute session, which was hosted by Dialog Center Chairman Dr. Uwe Küster, MdB from Magdeburg, included many questions and remarks from the audience. Also present were two of the three designated 2008 Dialog Center scholarship recipients, who will be spending a year at a U.S. high school starting this fall. This appearance was part of the ongoing relationship between the Consulate and the Dialog Center, an organization which supports the bilateral relationship.
