Consulate General Leipzig took an active role in an English class with eight students and their two teachers from Freies Gymnasium in Penig. With the final exams being scheduled in four weeks, the group listened to a 60-minute briefing by Consul Mark Wenig on a wide variety of topics, all covered in the school curriculum, which included the “American dream,” the American way of life, religion, elections, the U.S. system of government, education, the civil rights movement, and African-Americans. The talk was followed by a hands-on session in the Information Resource Center, including intensive study of appropriate materials.
