July 1, 2008. Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig attended a session of the Weimar Summer Courses for international students, where he addressed several aspects of U.S. policy and values before introducing the main speaker, Prof. Dr. Michael Dreyer. Dreyer, Director of the Institute of Political Science at the University of Jena, spoke on the subject of western values, and particularly how American values and European values compare. The twelve students present, who are attending a two-week residential program, came from eastern European and central Asian countries, and were selected based on their future leadership potential.
