May 23, 2008. In a reading in Leipzig’s House of the Books, U.S. author Terence Ward introduced an audience of 40 mainly young people to the significant Persian influences on Western culture, as well as on Iranian life today. The following day, Ward discussed cross-cultural program options with Florian von Bothmer and Sebastian Alexander of eurient, an association fostering understanding for the Middle East in Saxony. Ward presented his book, “Searching for Hassan”, a touching story of a quixotic journey by the Ward family to Iran, ultimately rewarded by an emotional reunion with a lost friend, the family’s former cook.
