November 7, 2008. Leipzig Information Resource Center (IRC) staff offered the first ever workshop for 13 information professionals at the Technical University Chemnitz, including the American Studies subject specialist. The director of the University Library Chemnitz, Angela Malz, welcomed the group. In addition to the presentation of Leipzig Consulate General products and services, the revamped IRC workshop covered expert recommendations on how to do research on the U.S. and where librarians can turn for professional resources. The IRC director donated a set of books on the presidential elections to the American Studies Department.
