Transatlantic Relations Revisited

March 6, 2008. Dr. Andrew Denison, director of Transatlantic Networks, an independent network of scholars facilitating information exchange and knowledge building across a broad array of European and American policy areas, met in Görlitz with 15 students and in Zittau with about 50 interested citizens of all ages to explain the U.S. electoral process, and to discuss the status quo and perspectives of transatlantic relations and NATO policy. The Zittau audience favorably noted the unusual opportunity to engage an U.S. expert, who is well-known from TV and radio, in a direct dialog on transatlantic issues. The seminar in Görlitz constituted a welcome continuation of Consulate General Leipzig's active America@yourlibrary cooperation with the Europabibliothek/Euroschule.
