August 4, 2009. Leipzig Consul for Public Affairs James Seward and Information Resource Center (IRC) staff held a workshop for 60 Thuringia English teachers in Jena. The teachers were informed about the newly renovated Information Resource Center and on the availability and use of various State Department and U.S. government public on-line research services aimed directly at teachers. The introduction to the IRC was followed by Consul Seward's presentation on the challenges facing President Obama's administration, followed by a lively Q&A session. Consul Seward ended the visit by making a book donation to the Jena schools system that will become the foundation for a teacher's library.
