Jena High School Students In-The-Know About U.S. Primaries
February 12, 2008. Leipzig Consul General Mark Scheland conducted a Q&A session with about 80 students and their English teachers at the Christliche Gymnasium in Jena. Questions touched upon the U.S. health care system, advertising in politics, and even the mechanics of caucuses. The students displayed impressive basic knowledge of the US system and strong English skills. This "MeetUS" program with the Consul General was extensively covered by regional media outlets.
