November 13, 2008. Leipzig Consul for Public Affairs James Seward addressed 35 English teachers from all over the state of Saxony-Anhalt, 15 students from Magdeburg University’s American Studies Department and their Professor, Holger Kersten, as well as Georg von der Gablentz from the German-American Dialog Center on the November 2008 elections. The event was held at the Magdeburg Public Library, an America@YourLibrary partner since 2006. The library director Peter Petsch welcomed the group. Leipzig’s Information Resource Center (IRC) Director Thea Bohse talked briefly about IRC activities, Consulate programs such as MEET US and internships,  introduced information available to the teachers, and distributed the CD-ROM “About the USA”. Consul Seward presented several new American books on the elections to the librarian, who organized the workshop in cooperation with the local school authorities and the Consulate.
