October 31, 2008. “Ich habe einen Traum” (“I have a dream”) was the theme of the celebration and discussion honoring Doctor Martin Luther King. The event was organized by the Evangelische Akademie of Thuringia, with the support of the Consulate General Leipzig. In his remarks, Consul for Public Affairs James Seward emphasized that Martin Luther King’s dream was not just for Americans, but represents the hopes and aspirations of people throughout the world for freedom and justice. A program of song was provided by American soprano Wendy Waller.
