May 18 - 19, 2007
Consul General Mark Scheland served as Patron of the 16th annual “Karl May Festtage” in Radebeul near Dresden, and officially opened the two and a half day festival on May 18. The event, which honors German author Karl May, who wrote about the American West, features a host of western-theme activities, including the participation of American Indians from around the U.S. Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig stayed on in Radebeul and attended various activities on May 18 and 19, including western line dancing and native dance exhibitions.
