Consul For Public Affairs Visits Historic Saxony-Anhalt School

May 27, 2008. Upon the invitation of the headmaster, Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig and a Consulate intern made a visit to the historic Landesschule Pforta in Schulpforte, Saxony Anhalt. The Americans were invited to lunch in the school cafeteria then toured the school which was founded in 1543. Wenig subsequently delivered a presentation to 45 assembled students on the U.S. presidential elections. The Landesschule Pforta, one of the most elite schools of its type in Germany, is actually publicly owned and run by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
