Leipzig "Meet US" Program Reaches out to Young Audiences

June 23-24, 2009. Consulate General Leipzig American intern Colby Mangels concluded this school year's Meet US outreach series with visits to a middle school and a gymnasium. Both schools are located in rural regions of Germany's East which have seen few American vistors. Mangels did a presentation for about sixty 8^th grade students concerning different stereotypes that exist between Germans and Americans, and answered questions on the American school system, the policies of President Obama, and the possibilities for foreign students to study in America.
