. Leipzig Consul General Katherine Brucker visited the Leipzig Public Library to meet Dr. Arne Ackermann, Library Director and Heike Scholl, Public Relations staffer. Consul General Brucker discussed program opportunities in the context of 20th anniversary of German reunification in 2009. She donated a set of Lincoln books to the library and agreed on a “Meet US” program with reference to Lincoln’s 200th birthday / President’s Day in February 2009. Following the discussion, Consul General Brucker got a brief tour through the library with special emphasis on the famous music library. It is well known through news reporting in Leipzig that she is a member of the Leipziger Oratorienchor.
