May 21 and May 24, 2008
. Consulate General Leipzig supported two jazz concerts by the Louis Romanos Quartet in Leipzig (May 21) and Schönbach (May 24). Featuring music composed by U.S. jazz drummer Louis Romanos, the band included young musicians studying at the musical academies in Leipzig and Weimar. Romanos, who was based in New Orleans until Katrina, has cooperated with young musicians from this region for some years now, and has also taught a drum workshop at the Leipzig Music Academy during his stay. Romanos performed a total of seven concerts during his stay in Germany, playing with varying musicians.
