November 10, 2008. Driven by the desire to continue the exchange of ideas and projects that was initiated during her International Visitor Program “Minority Youth Outreach & Civic Education” in September 2007, social worker Isa Isensee took the lead and convinced local school authorities to agree to a bilateral exchange of students between her home school in Leipzig, Saxony, and the American school that had hosted her. Consul for Public Affairs James Seward welcomed the first group of American students visiting from Baltimore on November 10 and encouraged them to take in as much as possible of German life and culture.
