March 12, 2009. Consul General Katherine Brucker read from her favorite childhood book, The Singing Tree by Kate Seredy, at the Leipzig International School as part of the reading marathon "Leipzig liest." Consul General was welcomed by the school's Commercial Director, Clemens Gerteiser, who introduced her to an audience of about 100 students, grade 7 through 11, and several teachers. After describing her typical work week as an American diplomat, Katherine Brucker presented an emotional reading from her favorite book. Following the Q&A session, the Consul General presented a copy of America 24/7 for the school's library.
