April 30, 2008. Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig was hosted to a visit at the Lessing Gymnasium in the southern Saxony town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal. Wenig first joined a group of students for coffee, then toured the school, and finally joined a general assembly of about 50 students and their teachers, where he gave a one hour presentation on the U.S. presidential election process, followed by Q&A. Prior to his presentation, the students showed a 4-minute PowerPoint video they had put together on German-American relations, featuring music and photos. Consulate General Leipzig has had excellent relations with this town, the birthplace of western and adventure writer, Karl May.
