American Prodigy Wows Them In Leipzig

May 18, 2008. Consul General Mark Scheland and his wife Elizabeth hosted an afternoon recital to introduce the outstanding musical talent of Nickolas Kudo, a 13-year-old American pianist living in Mannheim. Kudo’s mastery of works by Beethoven and Chopin amazed the 80 guests, among them Saxony Minister-President Milbradt, Jena Lord Mayor Schröter, a state parliamentarian and former minister, two deputy mayors, two concert promoters, and a Dresden newspaper’s chief editor. The house concert series brings young American artists to the attention of Consulate contacts and representatives from politics, culture, and the business community.
