Consulate General Leipzig Reaches Out To Students In Consular District
May 26 and May 27, 2008. Consulate General Leipzig staffer Birgit Kaemmer was among the invited guest speakers at all-day events at the Technical University in Dresden (May 26) and the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (May 27) in support of the German Academic Exchange Service's (DAAD) “Go Out” initiative. The presentations covered the U.S. education system, financial aid programs, and referred to internships as a superb opportunity to supplement scholastic study programs. At the Technical University in Dresden, Kaemmer also discussed the impact of the new European degree system on exchange programs. In addition, she took questions about the visa application process.
