Fulbright Lecture Series Concluded
July 8, 2008. A lecture/seminar series in Leipzig, which was cosponsored by the Consulate General Leipzig and the German-American Fulbright Commission, successfully concluded on July 8. The series, which began in April, featured six American scholars addressing topics dealing with present-day America, set in relations to the ideals of the past. The lectures – supplemented by seminars, additional readings, and students' presentations – drew about one hundred listeners, who learned about such diverse issues as immigration, segregation/desegregation, the New Deal, women’s and social policies, as well as the media in a globalized world.
