New York Ensemble Presents Contemporary Music In Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt

July 4–6, 2008. Supported by the Consulate General Leipzig, three concerts showcased the spectrum of contemporary American chamber music to an audience of about 70 in three eastern German cities. On July 4, the eight members of the “Argento Chamber Ensemble” were joined by the Dresden-based “ensemble courage” for a concert featuring music by U.S. composers, including Michael Galante, the conductor. The concerts in Dresden, Halle (July 5), and Magdeburg (July 6) embodied the creativity and ease of contemporary music at its best.
