Showing Team Spirit In Leipzig

June 11, 2008. Consulate General staffers Zoe Kusmierz and Sylvia Sander, U.S. intern Joe Semrad, and Consul General Mark Scheland ran as the Consulate team Diplomatische Laufbahn* in the First Annual Leipzig Firmenlauf, a fun run and team-building event for companies and organizations. Over 900 participants stretched in a colorful oval around a course beside the Leipziger Messe convention center. As the only Consulate represented, the American team stood out among teams from private enterprises and local government offices. (*The team name plays on two meanings of Laufbahn, German for “running track” or “career path.”)
