Consulate Leipzig Information Resource Center Reaches Out to New Audience

U.S. intern Eric O'Leary talks about American holidays

September 18, 2007. The America@YourLibrary initiative launched a first-ever presentation for nearly 40 elementary school teachers at the Erfurt Public Library, a joint venture with the library and the Thuringia school authorities, and a first in a series of planned teacher workshops. This presentation successfully combined elements of the different programs run by the Consulate to give an overview of the capabilities that these programs offer to libraries, schools and teachers. To display the previously attained partnership, the library also put on display books donated by the Consulate, complimented by their own acquisitions. The event generated additional interest for future consulate programs that could be offered.
