Focus On The 2008 Election In Dresden

October 27, 2008. Prof. Paul Rundquist (formerly Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress) and Prof. Jürgen Wilzewski (TU Kaiserslautern & Vice President German Association for American Studies) discussed with an interdisciplinary audience at the Technical University Dresden the international and domestic implications of the 2008 U.S. elections. While Prof. Rundquist analyzed - among other topics - how the recent economic crisis has influenced the election campaign, Prof. Wilzewski stressed foreign affairs, security policy and transatlantic relations. In the subsequent Q&A session, about 120 students and staff mainly from Dresden’s School of International Studies (ZIS), the American Studies and Political Science departments compared and challenged the respective German and American perspectives.
