October 7, 2008. Thirteen radio reporters from MDR Sputnik youth radio, including station manager Eric Markuse, took the opportunity to question a journalist colleague, William Drozdiak, former Washington Post Bureau Chief and now President of the American Council on Europe, about the upcoming U.S. elections. In his presentations and answers Drozdiak outlined the specifics of the 2008 vote: the breakthrough in terms of gender, race and age, new technologies, youth registration as well as small donations. In Drozdiak’s view, “the biggest mistake Obama could make would be to become too defensive.”
