Consul for Political and Economic Affairs Witnesses Line Dance World Record

March 21, 2009. Consul Edith Backman and a Consulate intern attended a show of 240 country and western line dancers at Dresden's annual "Hunting-Fishing-Horsebackriding" fair, which attracted approximately 24,000 visitors. The 22 line-dancing groups from various Western groups in Saxony met to create a new Guiness world record for the most line dancers in a single program. Titled "Let's Go Country," the program featured amateur dancers from groups across Germany and included Native American and hip-hop dancing.
