November 26, 2008. Consul for Public Affairs James Seward and Consul for Political and Economic Affairs Edith Backman welcomed 12 Leipzig district-based American Fulbright Teaching Assistants at the Forum of Contemporary History Leipzig. After presentations by the American officers and various German Consulate staffers on the work of the Mission and Consulate - including the "Meet US" school outreach program - the group posed questions and an interesting discussion ensued. The discourse continued during lunch at Leipzig's student club "Moritzbastei". The day concluded with a guided tour of the Contemporary Forum's new permanent exhibit on German postwar history, with a focus on the division of Germany.
