International Children's Day in Leipzig

On the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1), young people from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Arab world and North America enjoyed a day of multicultural encounters, fun and games on June 2 in Leipzig's Rabet neighborhood. Leipzig City Commissioner for Youth, Dr. Siegfried Haller, opened the afternoon officially. The U.S. Consulate General Leipzig supported the open-air event with its stand for painting and drawing. The afternoon was an initiative of parent organizations, volunteers, churches, and street workers. Other cooperation partners were Leipzig-based firms, the police college, the Red Cross and the city of Leipzig.
