The staging of a Christkindl market by Chemnitz citizens in Akron, Ohio, is proving to be another highlight in the German-American sister city partnership. 60 residents from Chemnitz and the Ore Mountain region are selling typical German Christmas foods and wooden artifacts in Akron, thus bringing German Chrismas flair to Ohio. In addition to companies from Saxony introducing themselves at the market, the Chemnitz Figure Skating Club, a brass band and a folklore dance group are adding a cultural element to the program.
