An exhibit about George Whitefield Chadwick opened in Leipzig's University Library. As Consul for Public Affairs Dr. Elizabeth Bonkowsky, Consulate General Leipzig, stressed in her opening remarks, this joint venture between Leipzig's Music College, Leipzig University, and the U.S. Consulate mirrors the strong cultural and educational ties between Leipzig and the U.S.
The exhibit deals with the life of the American composer, who studied at Leipzig's Conservatory (1877/78) and later on became one of the most eminent American composers of his time.
