Leipzig Celebrates Black History Month

February 5, 2009. Consul General Katherine Brucker carried out a "Meet US" program at Leipzig municipal library, one of Consulate's America@Your Library partner. After being welcomed by library director Dr. Ackermann, Brucker talked about American presidency to 40 high school students - 11th and 12th grade - and their English teachers. The presentation covered Abraham Lincoln - February 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of his birthday - the civil rights movement and ended with the new Obama presidency. Following the Q&A session with the students about politics, elections, consular responsibilities and the diplomatic career track, the Information Resource Center director briefly introduced relevant information on the Internet.
