August 4, 2008. A unique concert featuring American Moravian music drew an audience of over 400 to Leipzig’s open air and free concert series at the Bach Memorial. On August 4, Leipzig-based American violinist Amber McPherson was joined by four local musicians to form "Amber McPherson & Friends," a quintet that played compositions recently uncovered by McPherson at the Herrnhut archives. In her introduction, the violinist explained to the audience the transatlantic ties that the music of the Moravian church represents.
