On their first day at Leipzig University, Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig welcomed 45 students of new entering class in American Studies to the Consulate to discuss with them the work of the consulate and the student’s motivation to study U.S. culture, society and politics. The visit was part of an Orientation Week co-financed by Consulate General Leipzig, which seeks to introduce the students not only to the course of their studies, but also to the broader American community in Leipzig and to various research facilities, such as the Information Resource Center (IRC).
