U.S. librarian Jeffrey Garrett from Northwestern University Library, Evanston, IL, visited Leipzig and spoke at the Leipzig public library, Consulate General Leipzig's America@Your Library partner, and at the University of Applied Sciences (HTWK) about “Intercultural Aspects of Children’s Literature.” Twenty-five librarians from Leipzig and Chemnitz public and school libraries, welcomed by director Dr. Arne Ackermann, learned about the impact of youth literature on multicultural education. Afterwards, Garrett met Regina Bruch, English language instructor at HTWK, and lectured to her students studying publishing business and book selling.
