Fulbright Lecture Series Concluded

July 7, 2009. The Fulbright Lecture Series, conducted in Leipzig, Chemnitz, Halle and Magdeburg and co-sponsored by U.S. Consulate General Leipzig and the German-American Fulbright Commission, successfully ended on July 7 in Magdeburg. The series began in April and featured six American scholars who delivered a total of nine lectures on a wide variety of topics such as race, segregation/desegregation, immigration to the U.S., past and present American literature, and American versus German media. The lectures-which were supplemented by seminars, additional readings, and students' presentations -drew about seven hundred listeners. The series is in its seventh consecutive year.
