Consul for Public Affairs Mark Wenig and American intern Eric O’Leary gave presentations on the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, and examined cultural differences between the U.S. and Germany, before approximately 130 students from 3 different Gymnasien in Chemnitz. Several walk in members of the public also attended the 90 minute-session at the Chemnitz Public Library, an America@YourLibrary partner. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session that offered a concise look at the upcoming U.S. presidential primaries. Consul Wenig concluded the event by presenting two new U.S. books to a representative of the library, and he encouraged the students to visit the newly opened exhibit of paintings by U.S. musician Bob Dylan, at the Chemnitz Art Museum.
