Consul General Mark Scheland during Q&A with Annaberg-Buchholz students

December 3, 2007.  Consul General Mark Scheland traveled to Annaberg-Buchholz for a series of “Meet US” discussions staged under the America@YourLibrary umbrella by and in the public library. The 3rd American Day was kicked off with a book donation to Lord Mayor Barbara Klepsch. During the subsequent event, the Consul General shared the podium with American tenor Craig Bermingham from the local theatre, who added his personal views to the official U.S. position. This way, some 50 students from all school types and their teachers discussed different angles of a wide variety of U.S. related political and social issues, and learned about ongoing Internet resources presented by Information Resource Center staff.
